With the announcement of Telstra Health that it will no longer develop, support, or invest in Community Care products, a lot of healthcare providers are affected. The Telstra Total Care Manager (TCM) and Home Care Manager (HCM) will be withdrawn from the market and users only have 12 months or until March 2024 to move to a new software platform.

Making the Move to CareVision

The good news for TCM clients is that CareVision is able to support a variety of funding programs in the care sector. However, it is essential that your care provider team is already in the process of selecting an alternative to TCM so as to have the necessary time for training due to complex funding arrangements.

Moving to new software can be a complex process, and there is added pressure due to TCM and HCM withdrawing in just a few months. It's important not to rush into choosing a new platform. You need one that can meet your customisation, scalability, and reconfigurability needs to run your business properly. Here are some things to consider:

  • Cloud and Scalable
  • Australian Software Company
  • Control and Configurable
  • Client Experiences
  • Staff Experiences
  • Cost Optimisation
  • Cashflow confidence
  • Support Hours
  • Learning and Development

After Choosing the Right Software

Once you have decided on making the move to CareVision, there is no time to waste. Below are some of the key things to prepare for to make software migration easier:

Project Team and Governance.

Adequate resources and governance is a must to move forward and a good software vendor will be able to provide these resources and structures to help establish the project. A weekly or fortnightly meeting is recommended to evaluate the project's progress in terms of planned budgets, scopes, and milestones.

Change Management and Communications

It comes as no surprise that customers using TCM or HCM are used to a rather outdated system. it's important to keep everyone up to speed and one of the best ways to do that is to have a new internal communication channel like a dedicated chat platform or inbox. Private and group messaging communications are available on CareVision.

Data Cleansing and Migration

This is one of the heaviest tasks that you need to take on. It's quite simple but it will take a lot of time but it's important to start early on data migration. During this time, you'll also have the added benefit of being able to cleanse your data of old or outdated files that may no longer be needed.

Training and Adoption

Finally, it's time for training and adoption. One of the best things a software provider can offer is to give support. At CareVision, not only will you get access to a support centre but you'll also get access to the CareVision Academy. This resource centre has courses for your team where they can watch step-by-step guides on everything from setting up client profiles to handling finances and billing.
